A NEW STEP FROM TTGV TOWARDS TECHNOLOGICAL TRANSFORMATION IN INDUSTRY: FIRST AGREEMENTS SIGNED FOR TARGET ORIENTED PROJECTS
The Technology Development Foundation of Türkiye (TTGV) held a signing ceremony for Target Oriented Projects (TOP) under its Pioneer Project Program, which it carries out to develop transformative technologies and to deploy and scale them in industry.
Held on 13 October 2026 at the Ankara Bilkent Hotel, the TTGV Target Oriented Projects Signing Ceremony brought together research institutions and industry representatives involved in technology development processes. At the ceremony, organized for projects developed under the call launched by TTGV in 2025, stakeholders signed the first agreements for projects that will strengthen technology development and deployment capacity across various sectors.
In his opening speech, TTGV Chairman of the Board Değerhan Usluel emphasized that TTGV was founded to enhance the international competitiveness of companies in Türkiye through technology. Noting that Türkiye’s level of technology adoption remains moderate, Usluel stated: “If you are carrying out a technology project today, the problem is neither funding nor investment.” Usluel explained that TTGV has introduced a new customer model through Target Oriented Projects. He highlighted the importance of this approach in strengthening Türkiye’s technology development capacity and in accelerating transformation by aligning newly developed technologies with the needs of industry.
New Projects in Four Technology Areas
Agreements were signed for projects in four technology areas that play a critical role.
- The project titled “Production of Protein Isolate from Food Industry Waste,” to be carried out with TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM), aims at technology development and deployment activities for converting food industry waste into high value-added products.
- The project titled “Carbonation of Sorted Construction and Demolition Waste and Green Cement Production,” to be carried out with Baştaş Başkent Çimento Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., focuses on the recovery of construction and demolition waste (CDW) for use in green cement production.
- The project titled “Use of Recovered Lithium Carbonate in Cathode Active Material Production for Battery Cells,” to be carried out with Exitcom Recycling, aims to reintegrate recovered materials into battery manufacturing processes.
- The project titled “Demonstration of Clean Hydrogen Production Using Non-Catalytic Methane Pyrolysis Technologies,” to be implemented with Polus Engineering, aims to develop clean hydrogen production technologies and demonstrate them in an operational environment.
A New Approach Extending from R&D to Industrial Deployment
TTGV’s Pioneer Project Program aims to support the development of transformative technologies of strategic importance for Türkiye’s competitiveness, their validation under real operating conditions, and their conversion into economic value.
Through the Target Oriented Projects implemented under the program, TTGV aims to align the technological know-how generated in research and development processes with the needs of industry, to strengthen domestic technology development capacity, and to pave the way for scalable applications.
Through collaboration models designed to bridge the gap between technology development and deployment, TTGV aims to strengthen Türkiye’s capacity for technology generation and innovation.
