United Nations Development Programme

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is a global development network of United Nations. With the realized activities in 166 countries, UNDP besides conveying information and experience to communities, provides resources for the establishment of better life. UNDP-Turkey conducts studies in 3 major areas: (i) enabling capacity development for democratic governance, (ii) making effort for the reduction of poverty (iii) environmental and sustainability development. In addition to these basic areas, UNDP realizes activities for the capacity development of women and private sector in policy and projects and information and communication technology areas.
Furthermore, UNDP is taking actions for Millennium Development Goals (MDG) that is decided to be achieved until 2015. “MDG-F 1680: Enhancing the Capacity of Turkey to Adopt Climate Change” United Nations Joint Programme, that is one of the activities developed in this concept is supported by MDG-F and conducted under the coordination of UNDP. Under this framework of Joint Programme, TTGV has been coordinating UNIDO “Eco-efficiency Programme” since 2008.
United Nations Industrial Development Organization
United Nations Industrial Development Organizations (UNIDO) has been established in 1966 in order to support industrial development activities of developing countries. UNIDO is an organization in United Nations, focusing on industrial development, reduction of poverty and environmental sustainability areas. Proving technical support to countries, contacting internal and external credit organizations for the development of industry, technology transfer and education of technical staff are among the activity areas of UNIDO.
“Termination of methyl bromide usage in the production of greenhouse vegetables and cut flowers” project conducted by TTGV between 2003 and 2008 was supported by UNIDO. In the coordination of West Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute connected to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, soil implementation studies were done for the removal of methyl bromide in the agriculture.
TTGV continues the coordination of “UNIDO Eco-efficiency Programme” started in 2008 with the UNIDO collaboration in the scope of “MDG-F 1680: Enhance the Capacity of Turkey to Adopt Climate Change” United Nations Joint Programme.
