Güngör Yıldızbayrak graduated from Istanbul Technical University in 1973 with a Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering through a scholarship awarded by PTT. In the following decades, he tried to develop multi-disciplinary engineering expertise in the fields of electronics, machinery, materials and chemistry.
His first job was Data Transmission Engineering at the Istanbul Telephone Headquarters for three years. After military service he started to work for Rabak Copper Refinery Inc for ten years. Thereafter he joined Assan-Kibar Business Group as Technical Coordinator and Executive Board Member. During the years 1986 and 2004, he led the Executive Committee to structure and expand industrial activities of Group.
He coached to design the road map to future expansion for the Kibar Companies like Hyundai-Assan Automotive, Assan Aluminyum, Assan Galvaniz, Assan-Hyundai Çelik, Assan Prefabrik, Ispak, and Assan Gıda. He initiated R&D activities to be embedded into daily activities of the holding companies and redefined production policy by intensively communicating innovation philosophy within group members. These changes helped Kibar Group, particularly Assan Aluminum to achieve stronger and more competitive position, finally she became an outstanding technology innovator and fifth biggest aluminum producer in Europe.
He currently works for Novaltek Industrial Ltd of which he is a founding member. His latest industrial plant design is an Aluminum Casting and Rolling Plant for Teknik Aluminyum Co. in Çorlu which is able to produce 2.5 m world’s widest continuous cast coil.
Last two years he has focused to design medical equipment and recently prototyped three of them to be used in cardiovascular surgery.
The leading designer and producer of components, organs, systems, production lines and industrial complexes by enduring Turkey’s engineering prowess, Mr. Yıldızbayrak is continuously found to be making significant contributions to the Turkey’s frontier position for the development of very wide aluminum strip casting and rolling techniques as one of the technology leaders in the world.
He married Dr. Nihal Yıldızbayrak and has two children.
