Project of “Determination of priority activities regarding the implementation of Stockholm Agreement related to Persistent Organic Pollutants” has been started on 15 January 2004 for being a partner and meet the liabilities, with the support provided by Global Environmental Fund (GEF)
Under the scope of this project;
- Project Implementation Center, Coordinator and Programme were identified
- 17 stakeholders were identified and national coordination committee was formed
- Starting and education workshops were organized on April 2004
- 6 working group were determined as research, pollution, emission, institutional structure, health and national chemical profile
In the first stage, workshop meeting for briefing and discussing the actions to be taken and inventory education meeting were organized. 6 Working Groups were formed with the participation and in the coordination of authorized institutions and ministries for information and inventory gathering related to Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP’s) Inventory.
Inventory report was based on the six basic reports prepared according to studies and evaluations carried out by the authorized institutions of the country;
