As part of their mission, the Technology Development Foundation of Turkey (TTGV) plays an active role in the environmental field in protecting ecological systems with a perspective of sustainability while supporting technologically innovative activities. In other words, since the day TTGV was founded, it has been emphasizing the connection and interaction of concepts like Research and Development, Innovation and Competitiveness with Sustainability, Eco-innovation and Environmental Management.
TTGV whose collaborations with national and international shareholders executes management projects and programs from different sectors and offers financial support to industry developed environmental projects. To this day, in the environmental field TTGV has been the beneficiary of different international funds like the World Bank, the United Nations and the European Union, but the industry establishment management program, namely the “TTGV Environmental Support Programme”, which was started in 2006, continues its services with its own resources.
Environmental Technologies Support
The elementary goal of Environmental Technologies Support Programme is to support implementation projects for cleaner production technology applications which are applicable and economically valuable. This goal is included as part of the concept of eco-efficiency (cleaner production) that during production processes the minimum amount of consumption of energy, water, and raw material and the minimum amount of waste production.

EU 7. Framework Programme - Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) Project
Today, the consumption and production habits of industrializing societies are changing at a rapid pace and these activities have caused serious environmental problems (global warming, decrease in biodiversity, etc.) to become a current issue. When evaluating the different environmental effects and the different natural resource consumption that occurs during the production/consumption of every product or every step of the service (manufacturing, transportation, product use, waste disposal etc.) a difficult structure emerges.

UNIDO Eco-efficiency (Cleaner Production) Programme
Under the leadership of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), since the year 1994, 45 countries have applied the Cleaner Production (Eco-Efficiency) Program. In Turkey, the program was started as a sub-program of the 2008 enforced MDG-F 1680 “Enhancing the Capacity of Turkey to Adapt to Climate Change” United Nations Joint Programme, supported by the Spanish Government.
