TTGV was the coordinating agency of the workgroup for preparation of national report on "Climate Change and Sustainable Development" for the Sustainable Development Summit (Johannesburg Summit, 2002). As a result of the studies on this topic, "National Assessment Report for Turkey" was prepared. The report was also presented in the summit along with the "Best Management Practices".
Climate Change & Sustainable Development
Turkish Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MOEF) organized “Rio+10 National Coordination Group” in order to finalize the preparations of Turkey for “World Sustainable Development Summit”. The Coordination Group was formed by MOEF, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Planning Organization (SPO), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and National Environment and Development Program. Accordingly, six workgroups were set up for the preparation of the “National Report”. Being one of the workgroups “Climate Change and Sustainable Development” group was coordinated by TTGV. The “National Report” was submitted as the summary of finalized documents. After translation of the document into English, it was distributed to related parties and stakeholders.
